Awards And Medals
UNDER CONSTRUCTION - Being Restructured!
No Awards Are Being Given At This Time!
((Here is a showcase of the awards and medals members of the 28th can earn for themselves. For the sake of authenticity within the game environment, we are using Air Force awards and medals, as that is what is used within the StarGate Universe, with the SGC being run by the Air Force. We hold the highest of respect and regard for what these medals and awards mean in the real world, and applaud the caliber of the soldiers who earn these kudos.
That being said, we are altering somewhat the meaning of the awards to better reflect achievements that are earned within the confines of a gaming guild, and to reflect achievements in administrative, roleplaying, and clan cooperation areas. Some awards will be given for completely OOC contributions, while others can only be earned with exceptional roleplaying in certain circumstances within the game proper.))
Criteria: After game launch, this ribbon will be awarded to all those who joined the 28th in pre-launch and successfully brought their character into the game with us. Not only must one have joined us before official launch, but you must also create your character in the game itself and have joined the command on our chosen server to be awarded this honor. For every three months prior to launch you were with us, you will receive an oak cluster alongside the ribbon. |
Criteria: This ribbon/medal is awarded to 28th members for every three months that they are an active participant in the command. Active means consistently posting on the forums, giving opinions on clan decisions, and participating in RP on a regular basis. This medal is meant to highlight those who are exceptionally dedicated. Awards of this type granted beyond the first will be symbolized with an oak cluster next to the ribbon/medal on their dossier..
|
Criteria: This ribbon is awarded to those who do an exceptional job of bringing other dedicated roleplayers into our fold. This is not shown in numbers of recruits. Instead, it is to reward the quality of those you bring, as well as the respectfulness and honor you show for the 28th. Presentation is just as important as numbers, and those who creatively find ways to put the 28th in an excellent light while bringing in good people will receive this ribbon. |
Ta Criteria: This ribbon can be earned in either an IC or OOC capacity. Members who go out of their way OOC to help others learn how things work, and provide assistance to improve others' RP can earn this award. This is not for helping with game missions. This is for really going above and beyond to provide knowledge when you have it to help 'train' others in helpful ways. In an IC capacity, if your character goes out of his way consistently to help train others, either with or without orders, to make the Unit a better-funtioning entity, they can earn this ribbon, also. Skillful RP is a factor in earning it this way. |
T Criteria: A teacher cannot teach without students who learn. This ribbon is for the other side of the coin, and is awarded to those who are consistently willing to admit when they do not know things, and make a consistent effort to learn the things they need to know. Those who make great strides in their knowledge of subjects pertinent to members of the unit, and are clearly applying that knowledge, will earn this ribbon. In an IC capacity, this award can be earned for exceptional RP of your character taking instruction over a period of time, and gaining valuable skills to better serve the 28th. This is not limited to military skills only. |
Criteria: This award can only be earned through the positive reviews of other Commands. It is also extremely unlikely to be earned before the game's release. This award is for particular squads of 28th members who do their job so well and so efficiently in the company of allies and friends that the leadership of the 28th hears about it from those allies and friends. Bring pride to the unit so that others notice and comment on how well we do our jobs. Note: Mentioning this award in hopes of getting allies to praise you to the leadership immediately nulls and voids all chance of receiving this, not only for you but also the rest of the 28th squad you are working with. So let your actions speak for themselves. |
Criteria: This is a strictly RolePlaying Award. It cannot be earned in an OOC fashion. This ribbon/medal is awarded to members of the unit who are wounded in battle. However, the specific requirements for earning this award are also very strict. The wounding must happen while performing a heroic and selfless act of some sort. Walking into the line of fire and getting shot will not earn you this award. The player must also do an exceptional job of roleplaying the effects of the injury and recovery, be it sacrificing time grinding in the game in order to RP being 'out of action', exceptional roleplay in an RP surgery scene, or something else that sets you apart from the average everyday 'getting hurt'.
|
Criteria: This is a ribbon earned through OOC actions. It is meant to reward those who do an excellent job helping out with the day to day administration of the clan, helping it to continue to run smoothly. Those who go above and beyond to help keep things organized, neat, and running smooth in various areas of the clan infrastructure over a period of time will earn this ribbon. |
b Criteria: This is a ribbon earned through RolePlay. It is an award given to members of the unit who are consistently cool, calm, and collected under combat conditions. Who get the job done and work as a team with the rest of their squad to achieve the mission objective while remaining completely in character. This award is for those who manage that fine line of remaining competent under fire without breaking RP immersion, and do so on a regular basis.
|
Criteria: This is a Roleplaying ribbon awarded to those who consistently roleplay their character maintaining a state of fitness and combat readiness. This is not to say that he/she must always be fighting. It means there is noticeable and consistent effort to show the character training, cleaning and upkeeping weapons, and in other ways maintaining their level of excellence in preparation for when they will need to fight. They do not sit on their laurels, just because game stats might not decrease. For RP logic to work, people have to consistently work to keep their level of fitness.
|
Criteria: This is a ribbon that can be earned either IC or OOC, and is meant to reward those who consistently go out of their way to help others. This ribbon is for the person who puts their own needs on hold in order to help their teammate finish a mission, or gives freely of their time to help someone else accomplish something. People who forego level grinding to participate in a unit member's RP plot, or help run an event.
|
Criteria: This is the fourth highest award a 28th member can achieve. This is a roleplaying award. This award is for the character who performs a selfless act of great bravery and courage on the field of battle. The recipient of this award demonstrates exceptional roleplaying skills in an extraordinary circumstance. This could be during a large battle, during a mission, or an RP event. This medal can be earned with a single act, if it is exceptional enough.
